Knitting
I have been knitting off and on since I was about twelve years old. Sometimes successfully; sometimes not so. Now that we are occupying the tundra, I have revived my interest in the woolly arts. I have taken up my needles, turned up my iTunes, and attempted to bring some color to the gray days of winter. As per usual, I have grandiose plans, but am trying to limit myself to smaller manageable projects. Unfortunately, so many talented needlework artists post their creations on various sites that my fingers are twitching with the desire to stitch that and that and that ..... and maybe this. And so begins the dreaded stash of unfinished this and thats. I still keep a partially completed sweater that I began for my son when he was ten. It's a gift. The procrastination gene.
Last week I took an unexpected tumble while I was ice dancing. Okay, I hear your snickering (so impolite) ..... it was that last step on the staircase (it's always trying to trip me up) ... and inattentiveness .... and, if you really must know, clumsiness! At any rate, my hands are knitting; so is my foot.

Living on the Edge
New Year's Day is almost always touted as a new beginning ..... a chance to reinvent ourselves ..... an opportunity to improve .... to mend ...... to move on .... but really, people, isn't that every day? If we really wanted to, that is. Of course, some of us just spend the day recovering from the champagne celebration of the night before.

Rockin' Around .....
How can one not love the lights of Christmas even if the hustle and bustle and commercialism drives one c. r. a. z. y. The Winter Wonderland lights up around the corner all during the holiday season. Costs five dollars to drive through during a week night, and it is five dollars well spent ..... even if there are no children in the car.
However, if children are part of your holiday happiness, the sugar plums will love to rock around the Christmas tree on these guys. Of course, here we're talking more than five bucks (unintended) ..... waaaaay more.

Who Put the Ill in Illinois?
We've been living in Illinois for several months now (the old time flies thing), but according to my Facebook profile, I'm still rockin' the boots (not the snow variety) and livin' in Dallas.
Shades of gray ... dull skies, drab clothing, sedate sedans, dark cuisine ...
Halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee - do we go with the Bears or the Packers (yeah, I know they're in Green Bay, but the frozen tundra's the frozen tundra) ..... or stick with the Cowboys?
